Legal Counsel – LATAM

Your mission

Lead the drafting, review, and negotiation of commercial contracts with clients, suppliers, partners, and financial institutions (including services, payments, licensing, NDAs).
Provide legal analysis and practical guidance on local fintech and financial regulations, including those applicable to payment service providers (PSPs) or PayTech vertical, virtual wallets, acquiring, and digital assets.
Monitor and interpret regulations issued by CNBV (Mexico), and preferably also SBS (Peru) and SFC (Colombia).
Strong knowledge in LatAm fintech environment, with focus on Mexico, Perú or Colombia
Collaborate on the development and implementation of internal policies related to privacy, data protection, AML, and T&Cs.
Support corporate legal matters, including legal entity setup, governance updates, and company record keeping.
Assist in legal risk assessment for new market entries, partnerships, product launches, or licensing efforts across the region.
Act as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams (e.g. product, compliance, commercial, operations), enabling legally sound and business-oriented decision-making.

Your profile

Law degree; specialization master/postgraduate degree is a plus.
Minimum 3 years of legal experience, ideally in the fintech, financial, or tech sectors.
Strong knowledge of Mexican financial regulation is required.
Additional familiarity with the legal environment in Peru, Colombia, or other LATAM countries is a strong plus.
Experience working with contracts and legal frameworks in fast-paced or regulated environments.
Fluent in Spanish and confident in English (both written and spoken).
Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
Well-organized, adaptable, and able to handle multiple priorities.
Proactive mindset with a practical, business-oriented approach to legal problem-solving.
