Payments Product Specialist

Your mission
As a Payment Product Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the seamless operation of our company's payment processes. Your role encompasses managing supplier relationships, overseeing documentation, ensuring compliance, and executing payment operations. Acting as a pivotal link between business units, product teams, operations, and external payment providers, you will maintain comprehensive oversight of our entire payment ecosystem.

What you will do:

  • Product Expertise – Develop a deep understanding of various technologies and payment methods across countries in the LATAM region to effectively perform your duties.
  • Stakeholder Communication - Establish and nurture relationships with payment providers, including central banks, banks, digital wallets, and payment systems. Comprehend their requirements and maintain open communication channels.
  • Operational Efficiency – Ensure that payment flows operate within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Payment Process Analysis – Examine the movement of funds within the company's systems, gain a thorough understanding of each payment method's operations, and ensure optimal operational efficiency.
  • Documentation & Compliance –  Complete necessary documentation required by suppliers and partners. Communicate information requests to both internal and external teams effectively. Keep product documentation current in Confluence, detailing processes, workflows, decision logs, and product descriptions.
  • Continuous Improvement - Consistently engage in effective communication with both internal and external teams to fulfill your responsibilities.Continuously monitor and document all payment-related activities, ensuring the company comprehends the impact of each decision.
  • Business Strategy & Decision-Making - Develop and present business cases, model financial impacts, and advocate for strategic initiatives requiring approval.
  • Task & Process Management - Monitor and follow up on tasks assigned to internal and external teams to ensure alignment and progress.
Your profile
Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience, at least 6 months, preferably in the payments sector.​
Education: Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.​

Technical Skills:

  • Skilled in mapping and analyzing payment flows: authorization, settlement, reconciliation.
  • Experienced in managing supplier agreements and documentation.
  • Knowledgeable in uptime metrics, latency, dispute resolution, and operational KPIs.
  • Capable of creating basic wireframes and payment interface designs in Figma (with support from marketing and tech teams).
  • Strong documentation skills for processes and decision-making within product teams.
  • Ability to model business cases and defend payment-related strategies.
  • Proficient with task management tools like Jira, Confluence, or Asana.
  • Nice to have: Proficiency in payment systems, including gateways, processors, acquiring banks, and alternative payment methods

  • Analytical thinker with a clear understanding of cause-effect relationships in payment systems.
  • Effective communicator, able to convey technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-solver who quickly identifies and resolves payment issues.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, ensuring thorough and current documentation.
  • Proactive and takes ownership to drive projects to successful execution.
  • Collaborative, working effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and partners to achieve results.
Languages: Proficiency in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
